However, it sounds like ITV have finally snagged Rustie for the new series.

In addition to her presenting career, and stints on reality shows like ‘I’m Famous And Frightened’ and ‘Celebrity Super Spa’, Rustie also had a short-lived career in politics, joining UKIP in 2004, and unsuccessfully standing for election within the party in 2009.

Prior to Rustie being listed as a potential campmate, other celebrities tipped to be taking part include Spencer Matthews and Leslie Ash, while ‘EastEnders’ actor Jake Wood has also expressed interest in appearing.

Among the slightly more far-fetched rumoured stars are Caitlyn Jenner and Tom Daley, with ‘X Factor’ winner James Arthur denying his involvement in the forthcoming series.

After insisting that his previous controversies are now long in his past, reports suggested that this 'X Factor' winner was using an appearance on 'I'm A Celebrity' to prove to the public he's turned over a new leaf, though he's since insisted he's not appearing on the show, and is recording a new album instead. However, despite Charlotte's insistence that ITV don't want the 'Geordie Shore' cast for the jungle, that hasn't stopped her former co-star Vicky Pattinson from cropping up on the list of rumoured campmates. (credit:Rex)

True, he's rumoured for practically every reality show every year, but thanks to the new 'Gascoigne' documentary, he's back in the public eye and doing well - but will 'I'm A Celebrity' producers try and capitalise on that? (credit:Karwai Tang via Getty Images)
Nicole Kidman(12 of28)

Sometimes you read an 'I'm A Celebrity' rumour and think... 'well, this is clearly not true. Why are you wasting our time?'But the weird thing about this one is... Nicole has actually commented on it herself.Admitting she'd like to take part in the show, the Oscar-winning then claimed: "I’m Australian, we’re used to that kind of thing and I’ve even been known to try a witchetty grub!"This is what happens when you spend too much time with those Compare The Market meerkats... Michael, husband to the late Lynda Bellingham, admitted last month that he'd turned producers down when they approached him for the show, claiming: "It's still too close to Lynda's death for me, and to be honest, it would not have seemed right for me to go and do that." Craig Charles(15 of28)

Craig, on the other hand, has already said he won't be returning to the jungle this year. He quit last year's series after learning about the death of his brother. However, he's also insisted that he wouldn't rule it out in the future. (credit:Simone Joyner via Getty Images)
Caitlyn Jenner(16 of28)

Now this might seem like a long shot, but Caitlyn actually appeared on the US version of the show way back in 2003, when she was still known to the public as Bruce Jenner, and finished in fourth place.True, it's unlikely she'll be in the jungle this year - but we can dream, can't we..? Katie Price(17 of28)

And while we're on the subject of jungle comebacks, Katie Price recently put herself forward for a third turn in 'I'm A Celebrity', despite her last attempt, six years ago, seeing her walk away from the series completely, when she was repeatedly chosen to do Bushtucker Trials by the public. A former 'Love Island' contestant, niece of Linford Christie and mother to David McIntosh's child, it's hard to choose exactly which Z-list strand to lead with when it comes to Rachel, but she's reportedly been in talks to appear on 'I'm A Celeb' too, according to the Daily Star. (credit:WENN)
Ronan Keating(20 of28)

Curiously, former 'X Factor' auditionee-turned-businesswoman-and-model, Chloe 'Dern't Be Taaaht This Is Meh Laaaf' Mafia has all but offered herself on a plate to producers ahead of the new series.A spokesperson for Chloe told The Mirror (seemingly out of nowhere!): "Chloe loves reality TV shows and is a big fan of 'Celebrity Big Brother' and 'The Jump'... She's a fan of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here and would do it if she were asked." (credit:Antonio de Moraes Barros Filho via Getty Images)

Earlier this year, it was claimed that Jamelia was torn between appearing on 'I'm A Celeb' and 'Strictly'.Obviously, she eventually plumped for the latter, but if she's booted off the dance floor in the early stages, perhaps it won't be too late for her to head to the jungle. Will Mellor(26 of28)

Aaaaaaaand then there's Josie Cunningham. It was claimed when Josie's Twitter page was hacked that she was involved in a bidding war between 'I'm A Celeb' and 'Celebrity Big Brother'... but given that she's been making similar claims for a year now, we won't be holding our breath...
