Jake Wood’s snakehips put a spell on the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judges once again in Saturday night’s show, catapulting him to the top of the leaderboard once again.

MORE 'STRICTLY':

The ‘EastEnders’ actor came out joint top, alongside pop star Frankie Bridge, thanks to his energetic Samba routine to Los Del Rio’s novelty hit, the ‘Macarena’.

Jake even managed to surprise the judges by throwing in a bit of twerking for good measure (Miley Cyrus has a lot to answer for), a risky move which really paid off, earning him the joint-highest score of the evening from the panel.

Even Len Goodman, who recently panned twerking in a TV documentary, said: “It was out there and mental fun - I loved it!”

Darcey Bussell also admitted she found it “strange” that Jake managed to “pull twerking off” amid all of the Samba moves he was performing.

Frankie Bridge also wowed the panel with her Viennese Waltz, which was set to the classic Tom Jones track ‘What’s New Pussycat’.

Unable to resist some cringey feline puns after being dazzled by the Saturdays singer, Bruno Tonioli told her: “I am purring in absolute pleasure… you made it look effortless!”

Viewers who enjoyed Frankie’s routine will be pleased to hear that they can watch it for themselves when ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ hits the road for its UK tour in January.

Joining Frankie on tour include several other stars of this year’s series, including the newly-announced Mark Wright, Caroline Flack and Alison Hammond.
