'Strictly Come Dancing' 2016 Line-Up: All Of This Year's Rumoured Contestants

It's already shaping up to be another great year for the show.

It may feel like a long way off right now, but already the rumours are flooding in about this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ line-up.

The professional dancers for the new series of the hit BBC show have already been announced, with a whopping five of last year’s team stepping down, and three new recruits bringing something fresh to the show.

Attention now turns to the celebrities taking part, who are hoping to succeed former The Wanted singer Jay McGuiness by taking home the Glitterball trophy, or even just following in Georgia May Foote and Kellie Bright’s footsteps by dancing their way to the final.

So far among the rumoured celebs tipped to take part there is a typically eclectic mix, ranging from TV presenters and soap actors to pop singers and even a couple of international stars.

The question is… how many of them can we expect to be making their way to the ‘Strictly’ dance-floor when the show returns to our screens later this year?

According to a report from June, Angelica is the first celebrity 'confirmed' for the 'Strictly' line-up. However, given the show was still months away at that point, we'll have to wait and see. (credit:Anthony Harvey via Getty Images)

Eamonn and Ruth - pictured here in a rather swanky photo from the NTAs - were chosen specifically by Craig Revel Horwood as his picks for this year's line-up.

The former 'Coronation Street' actor has a lot of time on his hands now he's bid farewell to the cobbles - sparking speculation he's about to follow in former co-star Georgia May Foote's footsteps (or should that be footesteps?) (no it should probably be footsteps). (credit:Gareth Cattermole via Getty Images)
Tameka Empson(08 of12)

Soap stars have become as integral a part as 'Strictly' as body glitter and Bruno Tonioli's exaggerated hand movements, so rumours of Tameka Empson's appearance could well have a grain of truth in them. (credit:Anthony Harvey via Getty Images)

Possibly hoping to ride the wave that Vicky Pattison created with her 'I'm A Celebrity' appearance, Charlotte is now hoping she can turn things around for herself with a stint on 'Strictly'.

She's even encouraged her fans to set up a petition on Twitter for the BBC to consider her for the show.

Aliona Vilani became the first professional to ever win two series when she and Jay were crowned last year’s victors, but just a few weeks later, she announced that she wouldn’t be returning for the new series.

Meanwhile, Craig Revel Horwood, Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Darcey Bussell are all slated to be returning for the new series of ‘Strictly’, which will be the 14th overall.

Look out for the line-up being announced in the upcoming months (last year, the first famous contestant was confirmed in August), while we can probably expect the star-studded launch to air in September.
