Return Of The Beast... I Mean X Factor

What I am hoping to see this year? Well, I think a mixed group will do well. I also think the boys section will be very strong again this season and as we know, the first ever series started with an 'overs' victory, so will we get a repeat on the 10th show?? Time will tell on that one.

It's coming... It will get under your skin and absorb your body.....it will surround your friends and take over your social networking BUT, don't be afraid. It will also bring light to those dreary Saturday night celebrity game shows we have had to endure. Yes, you have had more BBQ's this summer than any other, but it's now time. Time for laughter, tears, frustrations, Sharon Osborne. No, not the return of Dr Who, Dean, it's time, to face the music... It's the return of the X Factor.

Fresh from picking my second consecutive BGT winner, it's all about getting a Midas Finalist. To pre-empt the winner would be fantastic, but as we have seen over the years, some of the biggest acts from the show, didn't actually win. (Cough) 2010 Midas pick One Direction.

The judging line up for this year's show hasn't changed apart from the return of the brilliant Mrs O, who I personally can't wait to see. Winter TV gold awaits.

Before I write about my hopes for 2013, I have to be honest about the 2012 series and say, I personally, don't think it was the strongest and there was too much controversy. Yes with it being an entertainment show we need talking points, but last year there were too many, and at times the ratings reflected that.

The most important thing, is that the talent needs to shine through. We all need to be inspired and on the edge of our seats, living the journey with them, but we do need to see the fun moments, have a laugh at (sorry with) those that may not make the grade, to put a smile on our face.

So, 2013, the 10th Year of X Factor

Looking back at my own personal XF highlights, I have to say my early calls on Leona Lewis & One Direction are up there, as is my stout defending of a certain Cher Lloyd when half of the media world was against her. Long may they all continue.

All of my Midas acts have given me memorable moments during the roller-coaster ride that is the X Factor, but my main stand out is 2007 contestant Niki Evans. Finishing 4th that year, Niki was the first ever act to let me officially 'go on the journey' with her and for that, I will always be eternally grateful to her. Niki has since gone on to have a brilliant career in numerous West End shows, including Blood Brothers & Legally Blonde

Right, I am off to try and get as much sleep as possible ahead of another crazy few months. Good Luck everyone, let's show the World, we really do still have the X Factor.
