Beach Boys Reunite, Brian Wilson Et Al, For 50th Anniversary Tour And Album

God Only Knows... Another Reunion
|

Take That did it, Westlife are rumoured to be doing it... now the Beach Boys jumped on the reunion bandwagon, with Brian Wilson confirming one of pop's worst-kept secrets, that he will be joining all his surviving Beach bandmates to celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2012.

The four remaining members are Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks.

Wilson, creator of God Only Knows - described by many as the perfect pop song - has been performing again with his own band in recent years, after a long period of semi-seclusion. He said: "This anniversary is special to me because I miss the boys and it will be a thrill for me to make a new record and be on stage with them again."

Reports of the iconic Californian band coming together once more have been bubbling for years, freshly ignited by Jardine's recent promise of "something really exciting" for February's Grammy Awards.

The Guardian reported only two days ago that Wilson had poo-pooed these reports, saying to Q Magazine, "It's not true. I don't really like working with the guys."

The famously mercurial Wilson has obviously changed his mind - fans will be hoping he doesn't change it again.
