‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers: Death Looks Set To Rock Weatherfield, As 'Well-Loved Character' Leaves

‘Coronation Street’ fans may need to have the tissues at the ready in the coming months, as it seems a fan favourite could soon be killed off.

Back in July, rumours of a high-profile exit began circulating, and actress Samia Ghadie, who plays Maria Connor in the soap, has now revealed that she’s been busy filming some super emotional scenes.

Writing in her OK! Online blog, the star teased: “It’s been great fun filming, but this week I’ve been recording some of THE saddest scenes I’ve ever done in my 17 years at ‘Corrie’.

“When I first read the scripts I was in tears so getting to film them has just sent me off.

“You may need your tissues when they air. And we say a sad goodbye to a well-loved member of the cast.”

While Samia doesn’t explicitly state that a death is in store, it certainly sounds like the exit will be very final for whichever character is involved.

Last month, a source told The Sun that Weatherfield was about to be rocked by a huge explosion, stating: “This is going to be up there with some of the best scenes in ‘Corrie’ history.

“Characters are going to be crawling through flames to escape and there’s talk of killing at least one.”

The soap’s bosses are yet to officially confirm what they have planned though, so watch this space…
