Jeremy Kyle might not be everyone's cup of cocoa but we're about to see a lot more of him on our screens thanks to a new £2million a year contract with ITV.

The deal will see the 49-year-old continue to host 'The Jeremy Kyle Show', which won Best Daytime Programme at last week's TV Choice Awards, as well as new shows for ITV.

Jeremy will also front factual documentaries for the channel right up until 2017, including a primetime current affairs series due to air next year.

"This extension to his current contract will be signed in the next few days and shows how much bosses think of him at the channel.”

The controversial 'Jeremy Kyle Show' has been on our screens since 2005.

It is thought he has doubled his salary since 2009 when he got around £1million a year.

The presenter got more than he bargained for during a trip to Magaluf in July, when he was pepper-sprayed by a bouncer outside a nightclub.

The incident took place during the filming of his daytime show in the notorious partying destination.
