Russell Brand has launched his new production company, Branded Films.

The British funnyman is keen to expand his skills, which already include presenting, acting, stand-up and writing, and has teamed up with partner Nik Linnen to create the organisation, based at the Warner Bros studios in California.

In a tongue-in-cheek statement to Deadline, Russell wrote: "We at the newly founded Branded Films are very excited to announce our new company and the opportunity for puns that it affords us."

He continued: "Russell Brand and Nik Linnen have coerced Beau Bauman into running our company. Our offices will be on the lot, our sincere hope is that we'll be in that water tower in which some of the Looney Tunes also live. For this we will expect a reduced rent."

Brand - who has been filming Adam Shankman's Rock Of Ages alongside Tom Cruise - couldn't resist asking for movie suggestions for the company to start working on, particularly if he can grab the starring role.

"If you have any film ideas, send them to: Beau Bauman, the water tower, Warner Bros, Hollywood, America (care of E Fudd)," he continued.

"We particularly welcome ideas that could feature a long-haired actor with an unintelligible accent (Rasputin/Tarzan/British Jesus). That's all folks," he added.
