The celebrities and professionals will also take to the dancefloor together for the very first time for an eye-catching group performance.

The couples will then have around three weeks to train before the competition kicks off properly later in the month.

The launch show will also see musical performances from Jess Glynne and Gregory Porter.

Reigning champions Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev will also return to the ‘Strictly’ ballroom for one final performance of their scintillating semi-final salsa to ‘Maria’ by Ricky Martin.

It will mean Caroline will be on both BBC One and ITV in the same evening, as the new series of ‘The X Factor’, which she is co-hosting with Olly Murs, kicks off its new series on 29 August.

The BBC are yet to confirm at what time ‘Strictly’ will air on 5 September, in a move presumably to stop it clashing with ‘The X Factor’.

Celebrities confirmed to be taking part on the 13th series of ‘Strictly’ so far include Peter Andre, Carol Kirkwood, Kellie Bright, Jeremy Vine, Ainsley Harriott, Georgia May Foote, Katie Derham and Daniel O'Donnell.
