Chris Fountain became another disgraced soap star this year after he was exposed as a masked rapper who posted online rants about sexual violence. ITV said that his contract was terminated due to his "unacceptable comments" and wrote him out of the soap without so much as a goodbye scene. His YouTube videos as his rap persona, The Phantom, featured the star discussing violent themes and have since been removed. Chris said in a statement he was "deeply sorry" for the foul-mouthed rant.

There wasn't a single pop star in 2013 who had a bigger, quicker fall from grace than James Arthur. The former X Factor winner was lambasted for a homophobic line in an online rap, causing him to have a very public spat with his one-time friend Lucy Spraggan. More than 12,000 people then signed an online petition to have him banned from performing on the show that made him famous. The petition didn't work - instead, he got to make a cringeworthy public apology live to the nation. Oh and he's also lost control of his own Twitter account.
