Zayn Malik Suffers Embarrassing Chart Defeat At The Hands Of Aled Jones

The former 1D star won't be listening to 'Walking In The Air' any time soon.

Zayn Malik looks set to suffer an embarrassing chart defeat, as sales of his new album have been trounced by classical singer Aled Jones.

The former choirboy is on course to top the albums chart this week, throwing the former One Direction star off the top spot, according to The Sun.

Despite achieving a number one with his debut solo release ‘Mind Of Mine’ last week, Zayn’s LP has suffered slow second week sales, shifting just 6,000 copies.

Aled has sold over 10,000 copies of his new album ‘One’, which sees him duetting with his childhood self.

Zayn managed to sell 23,000 copies of ‘Mind Of Mine’ during its first week on sale, but One Direction fans noted that it was just 10 per cent of the total sales the boyband achieved with their first week figure for ‘Midnight Memories’.

The 2013 album sold a whopping 237,000 in its first seven days on sale.

Meanwhile, Zayn has been giving back to his hometown of Bradford, after buying a box at Bradford City’s football ground, which he’ll be using so underprivileged and sick children can watch home games.

Earlier this week, he and girlfriend Gigi Hadid unveiled their first joint photoshoot, which was shot for Vogue magazine, and the results were hotter than hot.
