‘EastEnders' Spoiler: Who Killed Lucy Beale? Actress Hetti Bywater Refuses To Rule Out Suicide As Cause Of Death

'EastEnders' Actress Reveals Her 'Who Killed Lucy?' Theory

In just over two weeks’ time, the ‘EastEnders’ murder mystery will be solved, but in the meantime, there’s no shortage of theories on who killed Lucy Beale.

Now, Hetti Bywater, who played the young businesswoman, has shared her thoughts, suggesting a novel idea that probably wouldn’t go down well with viewers.

Speaking to Radio Times, Hetti states: ”Part of me thinks it would give the public a shock if it turned out that Lucy committed suicide. Who killed Lucy? Lucy!”

We’ve had a good think about Hetti’s theory here are HuffPost HQ, and while it would certainly be a shocking twist in the tale, it’s unlikely Lucy killed herself.

As fans will remember, the cause of death was a head injury, and Lucy’s body was moved to Walford Common after she was murdered.

Then there’s the fact that Emma Summerhayes met with the killer just before her own untimely death. Was she chatting to Lucy’s ghost? We think not.

Thankfully, Hetti has another, more plausible, theory.

“I want it to be Peter [Beale, Lucy’s brother] and I've dreamt he did it” she continues. “He'd been planning it for months so it was totally premeditated. It was a really dark side of Peter that we hadn't seen before.”

The cast are still in the dark when it comes to the murderer's identity and actor Jake Wood reckons they’ll find out just moments before the general public do.

Hetti will reprise her role as Lucy for a special flashback episode, that will recap the events leading up to her death.

Lucy’s killer will be revealed on Thursday 19 February, and the live episode will be screened the following evening.
