Sir Elton has famously dueted with George Michael on ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’, Lady Gaga on the ballad ‘Hello Hello’ and Blue on a re-imagined version of ‘Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word’, but his collaboration with Ed was a little more light-hearted.

Playing to the sold-out stadium crowd, the pair launched into a surprising rendition of legendary singer’s 1976 track, ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’.

Elton originally released the cheesy hit, which reached the top of the UK singles chart, as a duet with Kiki Dee, though he later re-recorded it in a house style in the 1990s, featuring vocals from the ‘Glamazon’ herself, drag queen RuPaul.

The unexpected collaboration between Ed and Elton came as a surprise to the ‘Lego House’ singer’s fans, who were also treated to a performance of ‘Afire Love’ from the pair, a track from Ed’s chart-topping album, ‘x’.

Ed’s sold-out Wembley Stadiums made history earlier this year, when he became the first act to headline at the London venue without a backing band.

Noel Gallagher initially stated his disdain when it was revealed that Ed had sold out three dates at the stadium, claiming: “I don't think I can live in a world where that's even possible."

Luckily, Ed didn’t seem fazed by the remarks, responding on Twitter with a simple: “I do.”

He’ll be performing his final two dates on Saturday and Sunday night, and we have a feeling there could be some more guest appearances from legendary artists...
