'Star Wars' Blooper Reel Shows Never-Before-Seen Footage

Harrison Ford can be seen chewing on his headset and fluffing his lines in an unearthed 'Star Wars' blooper reel.

The video - showing outtakes from 1977′s 'A New Hope' - has been uploaded on YouTube, after it was discovered by Lucasfilm editor and author JW Rinzler and screened at San Diego Comic Con earlier this year.

Other moments in the rare footage include Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill trying to work out how to pronounce 'supernova', and Princess Leia actress Carrie Fisher falling about laughing when Peter Cushing (Grand Moff Tarkin) forgets his lines.

The seventh installment of the 'Star Wars' franchise is due for release in 2015, with the new film being written by JJ Abrams.

Movie Mistakes And In-Jokes
Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope(01 of10)

When a Stormtrooper bumped his head on a doorway, in an unlikely 'You’ve Been Framed' moment on the Deathstar, George Lucas did what any self-respecting director would have done – he left the gaffe in. And in doing so, catapulted the clumsy Stormtrooper to world-famous cult status. He even paid homage to the blooper in 'Episode II: Attack Of The Clones' with Jango Fett also bumping his head on a doorway. Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom(02 of10)

In ‘Indiana Jones and The Temple Of Doom’, you may have spotted a glimpse of the theatre called Obi Wan – a nod to 'Star Wars' creator George Lucas, who was writer and executive producer on the Indiana Jones series. But that wasn’t his only self-referential joke. In the first film, ‘Raiders Of The Lost Ark’, the seaplane on which Jones escapes in the opening scene has a registration number, OB 3PO. Mr And Mrs Smith(03 of10)

Benjamin ‘The Tank’ Danz (Adam Brody) is aptly dressed in a ‘Fight Club’ T-shirt for his capture, and subsequent torture, by his assassins, Mr and Mrs Smith (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie).Director, Doug Liman, claims the cheeky wardrobe decision was less an homage to the film’s star, Brad Pitt, and more to remind the audience not to take the film too seriously. Charlie's Angels(04 of10)

When ‘Charlie’s Angels’ private investigator, Dylan Sanders (Drew Barrymore), crash lands in a garden, in the buff (don’t ask), many viewers will have noticed the no-so-subtle nod to the actress’s debut film, ‘ET’. Two boys are sitting in their living room, so engrossed in a video game, they fail to notice the naked woman standing outside the patio door, but few viewers will fail to notice the ‘ET’ poster hanging above the TV. And that's not all, according to his DVD commentary, director McG used the same house set, in which ‘ET’ was filmed. (credit:Columbia Pictures)
Home Alone 2: Lost In New York(05 of10)

In the ‘Home Alone’ sequel, Kevin McCallister (McCauley Culkin) wanders into The Plaza Hotel in New York, where he tricks the staff into giving him a room on his father’s credit card. But who is the familiar figure he stops to ask directions to the lobby? With that golden barnet, it could only be the Plaza’s real-life owner, renowned business magnate and star of America’s ‘The Apprentice’, Donald Trump. (credit:Twentieth Century Fox)
It's A Wonderful Life(06 of10)

When Uncle Billy staggers out of George’s house, drunk, it sounds as though he has crashed into some rubbish bins on his way out. But the almighty clatter was in fact a clumsy stagehand that dropped some equipment during the take. True professionals, the actors carried on, with Thomas Mitchell ad-libbing the line, “I’m all right, I’m all right!”. The director not only left in the accidental sound-effect but gave the crew-member $10 for “improving the sound”. (credit:AMPAS)
Men In Black 3(07 of10)

According to movie bloopers site, moviemistakes.com, ‘Men In Black 3’ beats ‘Skyfall’ as the most mistake-ridden film of 2012. As continuity mistakes go, this one has got to be one of the most blatant. When Agent J (Will Smith) is frisked by the police, by the roadside, he is glasses-free one minute and adorned with black shades the next. It would seem Will Smith isn’t the only one who should have been wearing glasses throughout the scene, if this one wasn’t picked up in the editing suite. (credit:Columbia Pictures)
Pulp Fiction(08 of10)

With its time-hopping, topsy-turvy narrative, you could be excused for not keeping up with the order of events in ‘Pulp Fiction’. Shame Tarantino and his crew couldn’t keep up with the order either.Numerous continuity errors have been spotted in the cult hit film but perhaps the most famous is in the ‘miracle’ scene where Jules and Vincent are about to be shot. But aren’t those bullet holes right behind them? (credit:Miramax)

Another gaffe-filled movie is Spiderman 3, released in 2007. Here, the same couple walks past Toby McGuire, in the same direction, in two different shots. Oops! (credit:Columbia Pictures)
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Curse Of The Black Pearl(10 of10)

Aaaaaarrh! Not another mistake. This film is jam-packed with bloopers - perhaps not that surprising in a production of this scale. Our favourite has to be the crew member who escaped notice in his cowboy hat and sunglasses. A cowboy film, maybe but, come on... (credit:Disney Enterprises)
