This year’s Brit Awards will include a tribute to David Bowie, the event’s organisers have confirmed.

The ceremony will take place in February, at London’s O2 Arena, and bosses have already set to work on masterminding the perfect way to commemorate the star’s career and achievements.
David Bowie
In a statement, the BRITs chairman Max Lousada says: "David Bowie was one of the most important and influential songwriters and performers ever and, like so many fans around the world, we're devastated to hear of his loss.
"A visionary and ground-breaking pioneer, he has inspired generations of musicians and will continue to shape music for many years to come.
"Naturally, we wish to honour his extraordinary life and work at the forthcoming Brit Awards and pay a fitting tribute to one of our greatest icons. "
During his career, Bowie won three Brit Awards, the first in 1984 when he was named Best British Male.
He then won the same accolade in 2014, eight years after being commemorated for his Outstanding Contribution to British Music in 1996.
Following Bowie’s death, which came following a secret 18-month battle with cancer, fans around the globe have paid their respects to the ‘Heroes’ creator and floral tributes have been laid at significant spots around the world.
Music fans have also snapped up Bowie albums, and a midweek chart update revealed that 14 of his records look set to enter the Official Top 100 on Friday.
The Brit Awards take place at the O2 Arena on Wednesday 24 February 2016.
