Normal People star Paul Mescal was left shocked and delighted after Sia shared a video of his hidden talents.

The singer was impressed after seeing a clip of the actor covering her song Chandelier.

Paul posted a video of his piano-led rendition of Sia’s 2014 hit on his Instagram earlier this week, which was quickly praised by fans.

However, his biggest fan came in the form of actual Sia herself, who later reshared the video on her own Instagram, revealing she’d been enjoying the BBC’s adaptation of Normal People.

She wrote: She wrote: “I’m watching Normal People right now and you’re incredible in it.

“And now this! Congratulations and hope to meet one day!”

Responding to her post, Paul told his fans: “Lads Sia shared this!! Holy God!”

The BBC adaption of Sally Rooney’s 2018 novel has become one of the most talked-about shows of the year, with viewers enjoying the complicated love story of Paul’s character Connell and Daisy Edgar-Jones’s Marianne.

Paul recently revealed he was isolating alone at his home in east London, having moved in about two weeks before the start of lockdown.

Normal People is available to stream on BBC iPlayer now.
