Roger Moore Touts Aidan Turner, Tom Hiddleston, NOT A Woman, For James Bond

Who Should Be Next James Bond? Roger Moore Just Called It.

‘Poldark’ star Aidan Turner will surely be charmed to learn that, when it comes to his prospects of becoming the next James Bond, he has a very big champion in his corner.

Veteran 007 star Roger Moore was asked on TalkRadio who he thought should be the next Bond, and he was quick to nominate the TV heartthrob, saying “I do think Aidan Turner looks very good.”

For good measure, he also mentioned Tom Hiddleston, but he may have been biased with this, because he mentioned the ‘Night Manager’ star’s good work with UNICEF, of which Sir Roger has been a longtime, devoted champion himself.

However, there are a few people he refuses to consider for the role… namely, all women.

He said: “You could have a female, a Jane Bond, but it would have nothing to do with James Bond. No, Bond is Bond.”

This will come as a disappointment to many, not least Gillian Anderson who put herself in the running with a sneaky re-tweet, captioned ‘Bond, Jane Bond.’

However, to borrow from another 007 maxim, ‘Never say never…’

The debate may, of course, be academic, with Daniel Craig hinting that he may have made a U-turn on his previous insistence he wouldn’t be picking up his licence to kill again after four outings as the screen superspy.

For the producer of the films, Barbara Broccoli, it’s an out-of-bounds topic, “I refuse to think about Bond without Daniel in the role,” she told HuffPostUK on the release of his fourth film in the franchise, ‘Spectre’.

So many people have asked him about it, Idris will no longer discuss the subject. But while Pierce Brosnan remarked Bond boss Barbara Broccoli wouldn't be happy with a Black Bond, she told HuffPostUK, "I don't know what Pierce is talking about."

Arguably too rugged for the corridors of Westminster where James Bond has to defend his actions, but very, very popular.

What the 'Star Wars' star may lack in stature, he more than makes up for in enthusiasm and appeal. Although the Bond villains might just want to cuddle him.
