'Strictly Come Dancing': Jamelia Loses Out To Peter Andre In Her Fifth Dance-Off Of The Series

It's Five Times Unlucky For Jamelia In 'Strictly'

She’s survived a record number of dance-offs, but Jamelia has finally bowed out of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for good.

In Sunday night’s results show, Jamelia and her partner, Tristan MacManus, found themselves in the bottom two for the fifth time, this time against Peter Andre and Janette Manrara.

Ultimately, Bruno Tonioli, Darcey Bussell and Craig Revel Horwood opted to save Peter, while Len Goodman admitted that if it were up to him, he’d have given the ‘Beware Of The Dog’ singer a second chance.

Following her elimination, Jamelia was full of praise for her professional partner, gushing: “I’ve said it over and over again, I could not have had a better partner than Tristan, he’s so fantastic, so positive and he really has believed in me. It’s down to him why I’ve made it all the way to Blackpool, thank you!

“I’m sorry to go, I do have to say I’ve had the most fantastic time. I’ve made the most amazing set of friends, I’ve danced at the Tower Ballroom and I’ve danced with Tristan MacManus a million times!

“I just feel so fortunate to have had this experience and I hope that I’ve shown people that if you are determined and if you work hard then you can surpass whatever you think.”

Jamelia’s departure leaves just seven celebrities remaining in the competition, with Helen George currently at the top of the leaderboard.

‘Strictly’ continues on Saturday night at 6.50pm on BBC One.
