The Inbetweeners are returning with a second movie - set in Australia, according to reports.

The Sun said that the four main cast members - James Buckley, Simon Bird, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas - signed up this week for the film, which will hit the big-screen next summer.

The 2011 box office hit featured school friends Jay, Will, Neil and Simon on holiday in Greece, while the follow-up will feature the lads backpacking Down Under.

A source was quoted as saying: "It wasn't easy for any of the guys involved to call it a day after the last film. They were a tight-knit family and really missed each other when it all came to an end.

"The writers have been knocking ideas around for a while and came up with something they thought would be good enough to maintain the high standards they have set."

Channel 4 comedy series The Inbetweeners ran for three series before hitting the big screen with The Inbetweeners Movie.
