X FACTOR: High Stakes For Melanie McCabe, Fourth Time On The Show, To 'Keep Roof Over Family Home'

X FACTOR: Comeback Queen Brings Louis To Tears

It was a night of comeback queens at this week's 'X Factor' auditions, and it continues tonight.

Scottish singer Jade Richards was back for the third time, impressing judges this time around with Bruno Mars' 'When I Was Your Man'. Louis Walsh told the 23-year-old, who didn't make it past Boot Camp in 2011, "I think you got your mojo back."

Other returning hopefuls included Amy Mottram, as well as girl group Dolly Rockers, seven years after their previous effort.

But it was Dublin teenager Melanie McCabe who made the most striking return - fourth time around - bringing judge Louis Walsh to tears with her rendition of Rihanna's 'Diamonds', which Gary Barlow pronounced "the best audition of the day".

Tonight, it transpires the stakes are high for Melanie, singing to keep a roof over her family's head on tonight's show.

The 19-year-old said her audition in front of the judges - and an audience of thousands at Wembley Arena - was "definitely my last time".

She said: "I think it's the only thing I've ever been good at. I feel like the person I'm supposed to be when I sing.

"I can't even put it in into words how much today means for me, it could significantly change my life and my family's life.

"My family have been so supportive of me over the years. We don't really have a lot of money, like as I'm sure most families don't, but we're losing our house at the moment and I'm kind of at this point in my life when I feel like everything is falling down around me and I just want something good to happen".
