Marvel has unveiled the second trailer for their upcoming movie ‘The Avengers: Age Of Ultron’.
An ominous voiceover promises that “no matter who wins or loses, trouble always comes around”, and a number of key characters also make an appearance in the clip.
Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow is present, along with Nick Fury and Thor.
A fight sequence between Iron Man and The Hulk is also featured, while Ultron declares that he will “tear you apart, from the inside”.
‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ is due for release in UK cinemas on 24 April.

9. Thor(01 of09)
Thor (Chris Hemsworth) literally appears out of nowhere, with a few stray bolts of lightning and ominous clouds as a warning. His character is pretty much useless for most of the movie, except for his occasional chat with evil "brother" Loki. Oh, he also doesn't get along with The Hulk, and uses his hammer to full effect. Actually, his hammer is probably the coolest thing about him. If Thor's your guy, then I recommend Thor as the benchmark rather than The Avengers, because he doesn't get a lot of play here.

8. Hawkeye(02 of09)
Archery is so cool this year! It all began with Legolas ... but I digress. Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) certainly makes the bow look badass for the whole 20 minutes he's onscreen, but it's never enough. Mentally held captive by Loki for half the movie, Hawkeye is underused, and the romance between his character and Black Widow is never fully flushed out. Though acted well, he's just kinda there.
7. Maria Hill(03 of09)
Wait, you say. Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) isn't an Avenger! I suppose you're right, in a sense, but she really is the brains and organization behind them, isn't she? Regardless of semantics, Hill is riveting on screen, looks-wise, action-wise and sass-wise. Girl knows how to kick ass and take names. It is a very good on-screen introduction to the new character, and you can actually look forward to scenes with her in them.
6.. Nick Fury(04 of09)
Samuel L. Jackson wearing an eyepatch and brandishing a firearm gets pushed up the list by those two things alone. But does Jackson even have to try anymore? While his performance is convincing, there's something tired about it. (I detected a hint of boredom in his one good eye.) You could literally plop him into any action movie and get the same performance. I guess it's more like Samuel L. Jackson playing Samuel L. Jackson rather than Nick Fury. That said, he's still entertaining to watch. Amazing how he can survive getting shot in the first five minutes, with nary a scratch.
5. Agent Coulson(05 of09)
(My omission of Coulson is inexcusable. Sorry, 'Avengers' fans. I was trying to go more "mainstream" with my selections.) But yes, Coulson is as integral to the Avengers universe as Maria Hill or any of the superheroes. In 'The Avengers,' besides being a right-hand man, he is the hope behind the team, the lifelong fan of the heroes. One of the best parts of the movie is when he gets his revenge -- sort of.
4. Captain America(06 of09)
Captain America is such a good person, despite what we've been taught about musclebound jock-type guys. He is sincere, genuine and strong enough to kick ass. I've heard great things about Captain America (confession: I've never seen it), and I can see how it would be a hit with Chris Evans as the titular character. Evans is charming as the patriotic hero, and I dare say he has more appeal in the red, white and blue suit than he has in any of his other roles. Padded by his massive muscles, Evans comes across as a gentle giant, the heart of the film, and contributes majorly to the Avengers' battle with Loki.
3. Black Widow(07 of09)
Originally, I wanted to give Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) a lower rating, but realized so many of her scenes are among the best in the movie -- like the interrogation scene at the start of the film. And let's face it, we know she's there for the eye-candy quotient, since this is a mostly-male movie. Some of her actions are laughable, like when she shoots her itty bitty handguns (to no effect) outside of Grand Central as The Hulk and Thor are obliterating entire buildings. But Widow makes up for it by flipping, kicking and otherwise destroying her one-on-one opponents. (For the ScarJo fanboys: there are a few specific shots that you will be a fan of -- they're no accident.)
2. Iron Man(08 of09)
It was tough to put Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.) in second place. He's given almost all the good zingers, he's the most fun to watch in action and we, the movie-going public, are the most familiar with him and his back-story. It's no exaggeration to say that 90 percent of his lines are funny, and not groan-funny, either! RDJ is always such a pleasure to watch, and I was much happier whenever he was in the frame. Such a relief, too, especially after the languishing Iron Man 2.
1. Bruce Banner/The Hulk(09 of09)
Are you surprised? I am too! Bruce Banner/The Hulk (played perfectly by Mark Ruffalo) is easily the most interesting character of the bunch. His story is well-explained, and as a viewer you cannot wait for his first transformation. Will it be done properly? How are the effects? You'll be pleased to know Whedon and his special effects team did this masterfully. As Banner, Ruffalo is appropriately well-mannered and docile, but it's clear that something brutal is simmering below the surface. And when he's The Hulk, it gets even better, if you can believe it. His fight scenes are epic. So, because Ruffalo and Whedon are able to save this Marvel character from almost-certain movie death, The Hulk gets top spot.
