Bruce Forsyth’s Wife Wilnelia Says ‘With A Little Bit Of Luck’ He Will Return To Showbusiness

'I don’t expect him to go tap dancing.'

Bruce Foryth’s wife Wilnelia has opened up about the former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star’s recovery from surgery, revealing that she is hopeful he will return to the stage.

The showbiz legend hasn’t been seen in public this year after suffering a fall in October 2015.

But in an interview with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on Thursday’s ‘This Morning’, Wilnelia said Brucie was hoping to be back in the public eye when he is well enough.

Asked if he would return to work, she said: “Yes, let’s hope so. I don’t expect him to go tap dancing but yes, he loves show business and I’m sure with a little bit of luck he should be back.”

She added: “Because he’s 88, usually a man of his age, they are already retired, but he’s been active only until just recently.”

Following his fall, it was discovered that Sir Bruce had two life threatening aneurysms, which he underwent surgery for.

The former Miss World said he had made good progress since his surgery, particularly in the last few weeks.

“He is wonderful, especially the last couple of weeks,” she said.

“He’s been really, really good and I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone. “We’ve had so many wonderful letters and phone calls and good wishes for him.

“I do believe in this energy and positive thinking - he’s doing really, really well.”
