Ruth Jones has delighted some 'Gavin & Stacey' fans with her admission that the hit comedy could return.

She told the Radio Times that she will "definitely" be working with co-star and co-writer James Corden again, adding: "We haven't any concrete plans but we will at some stage. It might be a 'Gavin & Stacey' special or it might be a film."

However, as much we hold a special place in our hearts for Smithy, Nessa and co., we really hope the show stays consigned to the vaults, along with these other five sitcoms that really shouldn't be revived.

After all, we don't want another 'Birds Of A Feather' on our hands...

Sitcom revivals
'Friends'(01 of05)

It may be 10 years since Phoebe, Monica, Rachel, Chandler, Joey and Ross sunk their last coffee at Central Perk, but barely a day goes by without talk of a 'Friends' reunion. While many fans are desperate for it to happen, we have a feeling that watching the six-some as a bunch of middle-age parents rather than a group of single twenty-somethings, wouldn't recapture the glory days of the show's original run. Plus, producers would have a hard time explaining Monica's new face, thanks to Courteney Cox's love of pumping it with Botox. (credit:NBC)
'Absolutely Fabulous'(02 of05)

Now don't get us wrong sweeties, we adored watching Patsy and Edina swig endless bottles of bolly during the first five series of the BBC comedy, but the less said about the three specials that aired in 2011 and 2012, the better. So the news that Jennifer Saunders is penning a movie script for a big-screen outing of the show, is a little worrying. (credit:BBC)
'The Inbetweeners'(03 of05)

There were groans when it was announced the E4 comedy series would be turned into a film back in 2011. But despite fans' concerns it wouldn't translate to the big screen, the result turned out to be a box office triumph. While it's no wonder producers are cashing in with a sequel, we're wondering how many more times can we hear the word 'clunge' and be expected to laugh? (credit:Channel 4)
'Only Fools And Horses'(04 of05)

David Jason's poor attempt at reviving classic comedy 'Open All Hours' this Christmas only acted as proof that his other iconic sitcom 'Only Fools And Horses' should be left to rest in peace. Sadly, Del Boy and Rodney will be trotting back onto screens in March with a new mini-episode for Sport Relief to update a story that was neatly tied up in 2003. (credit:BBC)
'The Royle Family'(05 of05)

Despite regular runs of the series finishing back in 2000, Caroline Aherne continued to wheel out the sofa-bound family for umpteenth Christmas specials, as the Royles slowly became a parody of themselves. However, viewers were given a reprieve last Christmas, and in a post 'Gogglebox' world - which provides far more belly laughs with its own look into Britain's living rooms - now seems the perfect time to let Jim retire to his armchair for good.
