‘Hollyoaks’ Spoilers: Amy Barnes To Return, With Duncan James' New Character

‘Hollyoaks’ bosses have announced yet another huge comeback, revealing that Ashley Slanina-Davies, who plays Amy Barnes, will be returning to the soap.

Ashley’s huge comeback storyline will see her working with new arrival Duncan James, whose soap debut was announced earlier this month.

Duncan’s character Ryan will be Ashley’s on-screen boyfriend, and the duo will also be working with Kieron Richardson, who plays Ste, Amy’s ex and the father of her two kids.

Ashley has shared her excitement with Digital Spy, stating: "I couldn't be more excited to bring Amy back to 'Hollyoaks' and moving back to Liverpool for such an exciting storyline working with old friends like Kieron and new ones like Duncan.

"I think Amy might find herself stuck between a rock and a hard place with those two!"

Ashley left the show back in 2012, though she has made a series of one-off appearances since.

A ‘Hollyoaks’ spokesperson adds: "These much-loved characters will be caught in a universal tug-of-love which will chime with many of the audience.

"Ste has made a lot of mistakes, not least his crystal meth addiction, and the ghosts of his past will catch up with his current woes.

“Viewers will be torn between luckless Ste and a man who on paper is a better example for his children but not their dad."

Later this year, viewers will see Ste at the centre of a huge storyline, though details are currently being kept under wraps.

During a recent chat with The Huffington Post UK, actor Kieron hinted at what viewers can expect, stating: “I’ve had a bit of input into it because it’s something that we’ve touched upon in the past.

“But instead of dipping our toe in it, this time we’re going to throw the character into it.

“Ste’s like a cat, he’s got nine lives and his life is always in jeopardy. I feel like the latest stuff is no different. He’s putting his own life at risk.”
