Lady Gaga Dismisses 'Abysmal' Bradley Cooper Romance Rumours After Oscars Performance

Lady Gaga has dismissed Bradley Cooper romance rumours, after their Oscars duet left fans wondering if the duo are more than just co-stars.

The A Star Is Born actors performed Shallow during the ceremony, causing a stir when they stared deeply into each other’s eyes as they sat side by side at the piano.

But appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Gaga was keen to nip any romance rumours in the bud, rolling her eyes when the talk show host brought them up.

“First of all, social media quite frankly is the toilet of the internet and what it has done to pop culture is abysmal,” she said.

“And people saw love, and guess what, that’s what we wanted you to see. This is a love song, the movie is a love story.”

She also revealed that Bradley directed the performance, as he did the film.

“From a performance perspective it was so important to both of us that we were connected the entire time,” she said. “I mean, look, I’ve had my arm around Tony Bennett for three years touring the world.

“When you’re singing love songs, that’s what you want people to feel.”

Gaga recently split from fiancé Christian Carino, while Bradley has been in a relationship with model Irina Shayk since 2015.

Sunday night’s Oscars saw a number of stars from the world of film win for the first time, including Gaga and her Shallow co-writers Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt.

Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek also became an Academy Award winner at the ceremony, along with director Spike Lee and national treasure Olivia Colman.
