One Direction may not have taken home all of the gongs at the Brit Awards on Wednesday but they were the winners on social media - by a mile.

The biggest boy band in the world right now utilised their millions of fans to see them crowned Best Video winner in the first ever Twitter vote.

It also meant the boys received the highest volume of social conversation on the night, securing over 1.2 million mentions as a result of their Brits appearance and two wins.
