Robert De Niro Lashes Out At Donald Trump (Again), Calling Him A 'Total Loser'

The Hollywood star has a track record when it comes to taking aim at the president.

Robert De Niro has taken another swing at Donald Trump, calling the US president a “total loser” and “wannabe gangster”.

The Hollywood actor has been involved in a long-running dispute with the current occupant of the Oval Office, famously yelling “fuck Trump” at last year’s Tony Awards.

De Niro’s latest jibe came during an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Friday, as he explained he had tried to give Trump a chance.

He told the host: “That’s what I said right after he was elected. Give him a chance.

“I give everybody the benefit of the doubt. This guy has proven himself to be a total loser.”

De Niro was on the show to chat about his latest project, Netflix’s The Irishman, which is another addition to the gangster genre.

When Colbert quizzed him on why audiences love these films, citing his previous work on The Godfather Part II, De Niro aimed another barb at Trump.

“People like the outlaw type thing except we have a wannabe gangster in the White House now,” he said before calling the president a “dumbbell” and adding: “Even gangsters have morals and they have ethics.

“They have a code and you know when you give somebody your word it’s your word because it’s all you have is your word.

“This guy he doesn’t even know what that means.”

Trump is yet to respond to the actor’s latest comments but given that he has a history of doing so, we reckon there could be a tweet coming soon.

After De Niro’s Tonys tirade, Trump said the actor was “punch-drunk” and called him a “low-IQ individual”

The president’s response didn’t seem to irk De Niro though and in December last year, he took aim again

Calling Trump a “nightmare”, he said: “I know what kind of person this guy is, he is a New Yorker who I never would want to meet, and now he’s president.

“And the reason I wouldn’t want to meet him is because of the kind of person he is.”
