'Strictly Come Dancing': Tess Daly Insists 'Bruce Forsyth Is Not Going Anywhere'

Tess Daly has jumped to the defence of 'Strictly Come Dancing' co-host Bruce Forsyth yet again, insisting the ageing presenter is 'not going anywhere'.

Recent reports have suggested the 85-year-old is set to quit the show at the end of the current series, with Bruce's pal Ronnie Corbett even backing up the claims.

"Brucie is my homeboy. He’s not going anywhere," Tess told The Sun.

"Bruce does the job better than a man half his age. He’s a legend. He’s not doddery, he is such a talent. And he’s so funny."

Despite some fans believing Bruce is struggling to keep up with the demands of the show, he is still helping to pull in larger viewing figures than rival show 'The X Factor'.

"The public seem to like us and that’s what matters. It’s exciting that our ratings are so good - it’s a family show for everyone," Tess said of the ratings battle.

"We’ve got a great formula and it’s so interactive. The public go on the journey with each of the contestants."

Bruce has previously hinted that he is considering leaving the UK and moving to Puerto Rico, where his wife's family live.

"I’d contemplate just doing six months a year in this country," he told the Radio Times.

"If this is going to be our regular winter, I’m going to vanish in October and come back again at the end of May.”
