Tom Hanks Taking 'One Day At A Time' After Being Diagnosed With Coronavirus

The actor and his wife are self-isolating in Australia after contracting the virus.

Tom Hanks has told fans that he and his wife Rita Wilson are taking it “one day at a time” after they were both diagnosed with Covid-19.

On Thursday, the 63-year-old Forest Gump star revealed that he and his wife had tested positive for coronavirus.

The couple, who have been married for more than 30 years, are in Australia where the actor is filming an Elvis Presley biopic.

Sharing an update with fans on Instagram, the Hollywood star posted a selfie of him and his wife, revealing they remain in isolation.

He wrote: “Hello folks. @ritawilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us. We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else.

“There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no?”

The Oscar-winning actor referenced his 1992 sports-comedy film A League Of Their Own, adding: “Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball.”

He signed the post off with his usual “Hanx”.
