Best Moments From Wilderness Festival 2014

As proud media partners of Wilderness Festival, HuffPost UK couldn't resist summing up the best moments from the weekend's revelry.

Despite occasional bursts of rain and gusts of wind (we're looking at you, Bertha), the weekend will be remembered for the array of top hats, glittery faces, feather headdresses and children wearing stuffed dinosaur tails. Yes, dinosaur tails.

It was a tough job, but here are our highlights from the weekend.

Cricket(01 of07)

When the sun shines (as it did for 75% of Wilderness Festival) there is no greater British pastime than watching a good old game of cricket.

Each year a select group of festival goers - both young and old - are summoned to take to the pitch for a highly-competitive hilarious game of cricket.

Streakers, brilliant commentary and stalls selling everything from hog roast to gin & tonic. What's not to love?

Like something out of the Wicker Man, at ten o'clock on Saturday night the whole of Wilderness Festival united to see the skies set alight in glorious fashion.

Eerie and magical at the same time, festival goers gathered for a festival takeover by procession pioneers Macnas in collaboration with renowned fire artists And now: for this summer’s tallest burning effigy. Simply spectacular.

Lakeside Swimming(03 of07)

It wouldn't be Wilderness Festival without a spot of wild swimming, now would it?

Each year, rain or shine, hundreds of revellers don their finest swimwear to take a dip in the glorious lakes of Cornbury Estate, Oxfordshire.

There are also organised groups for skinny dipping (although, call us prudes, but we certainly didn't go that that far).

Pandemonium (04 of07)

The best night out we've had in a long time, Pandemonium was simply that - a night of steamy hedonism and avant-garde decadence as pioneering electronic artists and DJs brought the valley alive for a costumed crowd in a natural amphitheatre of sound.

The Box, at Pandemonium

The Box – best known as the London night-club that plays host to the likes of Prince Harry and A-list stars - left revellers open-mouthed as aerial acrobats floated among the tree tops as part of a dazzling display in Pandemonium.

Angela Hartnett Banquet(05 of07)

Usually at festivals you'll be lucky to get more than a soggy breakfast bap or sloppy burrito, but Wilderness Festival is different.

From Friday to Sunday, festival goers can enjoy lunch or dinner at exclusive banquets prepared by top chefs - this year's line-up included menus from Angela Hartnett, Polpo's Russell Norman and Simon Rogan.

Angela's banquet (which we were lucky enough to attend) included grilled pepperoni anchovies, BBQ sea bream and stuffed peaches with amaretti.

De-lish.

Metronomy(06 of07)

It may have been raining and miserable, but Friday headliners Metronomy really warmed up dampened spirits.

Festival goers danced on hay bails to hits 'The Look' and 'Heartbreaker', as well as listening to tracks from the electronic quartets' most recent album 'Love Letters'.

The Huffington Post UK's political director and commentator for The Spectator told a packed crowd at the Secret Forum his views on Islamophobia in the media.

The all-inclusive stage curated live digests of all things interesting to entertain, inspire, and connect with the festival-goers. Divisive and outspoken, Hasan raised an issue that raised eyebrows, provoked laughter and sparked fierce debate.
