Grammys 2020 Red Carpet: Billy Porter's Fabulous Hat Sparks Our Favourite New Meme

The Pose actor certainly knows how to get people talking.

It’s pretty much a given in 2020 that if you roll out a red carpet, Billy Porter is going to walk around it, looking more fabulous than anyone in the immediate vicinity.

This was certainly the case on Sunday night, when the Pose star was a presenter at this year’s Grammys, and walked the red carpet in another of his show-stopping ensembles.

For the Grammys, Billy made an entrance in an eye-catching peacock blue suit, complete with silver platform shoes, bejeweled spider bracelet and a matching sparkly clutch bag.

It wasn’t just an amazing outfit that Billy gave us at the Grammys, though, but also our favourite new meme of 2020 so far.

You see, his ensemble was topped off with an enormous hat, complete with metallic fringe, which actually opened and closed with the help of a remote control…

His hat’s motorised quality quickly sparked a lot of conversation on social media, including some rather fabulous reactions…

During the ceremony, Billy also appeared on stage sans hat, to introduce the Jonas Brothers head of their performance.

Back in September, Billy made history when his performance as Praytell in Pose earned him a historic win at the Emmys, where he was the first openly gay black man to win in the Best Actor In A Drama category.

Check out all the must-see pictures from this year’s Grammys red carpet below...
