Strictly Come Dancing’s Kevin Clifton Says He’s ‘Public Enemy Number 1’ In Light Of Rumoured Stacey Dooley Romance

The pair have yet to confirm if they're an item.

Kevin Clifton has labelled himself “public enemy number one” in light of his rumoured romance with his former Strictly Come Dancing partner Stacey Dooley.

The professional dancer led Stacey to victory on the last series of Strictly, and soon after the documentary-maker broke up with her boyfriend of three years, Sam Tucknott.

Following the split, Sam gave a tabloid interview claiming his ex and Kevin were more than just friends, although neither of them have confirmed if they’re an item.

On Sunday, Kevin alluded to the drama surrounding the rumours about him and Stacey during a performance of Burn the Floor at the New Wimbledon Theatre.

According to The Sun, Kevin told the audience: “I seem to be public enemy number one at the moment.”

He then added: “I’ll get blamed for the Meghan Markle baby as well.”

According to the newspaper, both Stacey and Kevin’s sister Joanne were in the audience when he made the comments.

Shortly after it was first suggested that she and Kevin were an item, Stacey offered her only comment on the matter, when she tweeted: “Anyone with any adult life experience knows there are 2 sides to every story.

“I haven’t got the time or energy to correct some of the utter nonsense I’ve read on here.

“Re Sam [her ex-boyfriend], I loved him v much and only wish him happiness and success going forward.”

And last month, Stacey did little to dispel the romance rumours when she shared a cosy-looking snap of them on her Instagram story.

Offering no further comment, she posted a picture of herself and Kevin grinning at someone off-camera, while he stood with his arm around her.
