Roxanne Pallett's Rep Dismisses Claims She 'Exaggerated Crash Pain' For 'Publicity'

Roxanne Pallett’s representative has hit back at new claims about the car crash the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star was involved in over the summer.

Back in July, Roxanne was airlifted to hospital after being involved in a high-speed stock car crash, while racing her former radio co-host as part of a promotional event.

Following her recent stint in the ‘CBB’ house, a event organiser Edd Pannett told The Sun he feels she “exaggerated” the extent of her injuries for “publicity”.

Edd claimed: “I was first on the scene. I didn’t run over because I knew she hadn’t hurt herself.

“When I got there, she was saying, ‘I can’t feel my legs, I can’t feel my arms, my neck’s hurting, my back’s hurting, my head’s hurting’. She went through the whole lot.

“I feel we were used as a stepping stone for her to get to other things, and get publicity before going on Big Brother.”

However, this has now been dismissed by Roxanne’s representatives, who insisted to Digital Spy: “Roxanne has never confirmed the speed she was travelling at when the crash occurred, it may have been reported but she never confirmed it.

“It would have been impossible for her to know her speed, as she was crashing. The only qualified and crucially impartial people present to assess Roxanne’s condition were the paramedics, who made the decision to airlift her to hospital.

“At the time of discussions and at the time of the race, Roxanne was not booked or in discussions for ‘Celebrity Big Brother’. There is evidence to support this which The Sun have been offered.”

Roxanne entered the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house last month, with this year’s series featuring an “eye of the storm” theme.

The former ‘Emmerdale’ star explained in her opening VT that reading abusive messages on social media in the wake of the crash had hurt “moreso than some of her physical injuries”.

She later wound up creating yet another “media storm” while inside the house, after accusing fellow contestant and former soap star Ryan Thomas of “punching” her “repeatedly” and “deliberately” in the ribs.

After leaving the house of her own accord, Roxanne conceded that this allegation was a “mistake” and an “exaggeration”, and has since stepped down from both her radio presenting job and an upcoming pantomime role to “take time out to reflect” on her actions.
