Former Strictly Come Dancing winner Jay McGuiness has said there was a romantic scandal during his time on the show that never made it into the newspapers.
Jay – formerly a member of the boyband The Wanted – was a contestant on the 13th series of Strictly back in 2015, beating Kellie Bright, Georgia May Foote and Katie Derham in that year’s final.
On Friday’s Loose Women, Jay revealed: “My year was just like every other year, there were two big romantic scandals and half of it is in the paper and half isn’t… and then there’s a bunch of stuff that goes on and you think ‘wow, I’m really surprised no one knows about this’.”
Although he refused to be drawn on specifics, he added: “So much goes on, it’s just a bunch of made people in close proximity who don’t normally hang out like athletes and pop stars and newsreaders.”
We already know that Georgia May Foote split up with her ex-boyfriend while she was on the show, later getting together with her professional partner Giovanni Pernice, though the identity of the other pair remains a mystery.

The Countdown presenter announced her split from her husband just weeks after her stint on the show. In 2014, she and pro dancer Pasha Kovalev confirmed they were dating, though she remained insistent that Strictly had nothing to do with her marriage split.
