Tom Hiddleston Spotted In Meeting With James Bond Team

The UK star impressed everyone as a spy in 'The Night Manager'.

The ‘Thor’ star impressed many fans as a smooth rookie spy in recent BBC drama ‘The Night Manager’ and now it seems his talents have reached the team behind the ultimate espionage agent.

Barbara, who inherited the franchise from her father Cubby has made no secret of her desire for Daniel Craig to continue indefinitely in the role, however, it seems the actor himself has other ideas, saying during the press rounds for ‘Spectre’ that he would only do another Bond film “for the money”.

Now, it seems she may have another blonde Brit in her sights. Tom, whose film biopic 'I Saw The Light' about musician Hank Williams opened in cinemas last week to less than enormous audiences, was seen sitting down with her and Sam Mendes - director of the last two Bond films - in London’s Soho House members club, a hub for media people.

I'm still championing this fellow - Tom Hughes, seen in BBC spy thriller 'The Game'

This means, if they were hoping to keep the meeting secret, they weren’t making a very good job of it - which could mean it’s all part of a cunning ruse to through film pundits off the scent, in a twist worthy of John Le Carre or Ian Fleming himself.

It’s all very confusing. In the meantime, I’ll keep throwing in my tuppence and championing Tom Hughes for the role, with the caveat that a couple more years might put the lines on his young face required for the seasoned 007…

Idris Elba(02 of14)

So many people have asked him about it, Idris will no longer discuss the subject. But while Pierce Brosnan remarked Bond boss Barbara Broccoli wouldn't be happy with a Black Bond, she told HuffPostUK, "I don't know what Pierce is talking about."

Arguably too rugged for the corridors of Westminster where James Bond has to defend his actions, but very, very popular.

Has proved he has the required steeliness in any number of big screen roles, but success Stateside might make him no longer willing to commit.

No gun or martial arts skills required, he can just look at them, and wait for submission.

What the 'Star Wars' star may lack in stature, he more than makes up for in enthusiasm and appeal. Although the Bond villains might just want to cuddle him.
Taron Egerton(09 of14)

Proved his action hero chops in 'Kingsman: Secret Service' and signing him now would mean Barbara Broccoli and co wouldn't have to worry again for at least a decade.

Like Pierce Brosnan, Irish charm could help the 'Steve Jobs' star int the role.

Who, you ask? Set to play Prince Albert against Jenna Coleman in the forthcoming 'Victoria' TV series, Tom has already proven himself a master of espionage in 'The Game' and 'Page Eight', both on TV. When not if he gets the call, don't say we didn't give you the heads up...
