‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Anton Du Beke has said he has no sympathy for co-stars Seann Walsh and Katya Jones over their recent kiss drama, claiming to be “disappointed on many levels”.

The pair were caught up in a scandal earlier this week, after they were filmed locking lips in the street, despite both having partners.

They subsequently faced a backlash from viewers, especially after Seann’s now ex-girlfriend Rebecca Humphries publicly dumped him in a withering statement that called out his “inappropriate and hurtful” behaviour.

Anton has now weighed in on the matter, following Seann and Katya’s awkward appearance on spin-off show ‘It Takes Two’ to make a public apology.

Speaking Irish radio station RTE Radio 1, Anton was asked if he had any sympathy for them, to which he responded: “Not really. I’ll tell you one thing, I’m a bit disappointed.”

While insisting he didn’t want to get too involved, he went on say: “I don’t know how they’re going to resolve it in their relationships but it’s their business and they must do that.

He added: “I am disappointed on many levels… listen, don’t drink – if that’s what happens? Stop. Don’t drink! Practise, don’t drink.”

While the pair had faced calls to back out of ‘Strictly’, it has been confirmed they will still appear on this Saturday’s show, performing a Charleston.

‘Strictly’ judge Craig Revel Horwood has backed their decision to stay in the competition, although admitted he was looking forward to seeing them do “the dance of shame”.

Speaking on the Jonathan Ross Show, he said: “My take was keep them in the show, make them do the Dance of Shame, if you like.

“I’m just saying it’s really important that if this does happen to you, you face up to it and you either, as they’ve done, apologise which is absolutely fine but get on with the job and show people what you’re made of and show people, ‘OK, this is what I did, I’ve been employed to do this job, I’m going to go on, do the job, get on with it and do it well and do it professionally’.”

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ continues on Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.

The Countdown presenter announced her split from her husband just weeks after her stint on the show. In 2014, she and pro dancer Pasha Kovalev confirmed they were dating, though she remained insistent that Strictly had nothing to do with her marriage split.

Rachel and Pasha later tied the knot and now have two children together, with the TV personality recently trying to distance herself from Strictly's so-called "curse".
