'Strictly Come Dancing' Results: Laura Whitmore Leaves Competition After Ore Oduba Dance-Off

'Just to be part of this for a little while is amazing.'

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has bid farewell to another of its celebrity contestants, with Laura Whitmore leaving the dance floor for the last time.

In Sunday’s (6 November) results show, Laura and professional partner Giovanni Pernice found themselves in the dance-off, after failing to get the public behind them.

Surprisingly, Laura was up against Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton, who had one of the night’s top three highest-scoring performances, and won particular praise for their energetic Salsa routine.

After each couple performed again, it was up to the judges to decide, with each of them choosing to save Ore.

Craig Revel Horwood was the first to vote, telling Ore and Joanne they’d given “the dance of the night”, while Darcey Bussell agreed: “I’d like to save the couple that I believe and know performed their best, a finished performance, was Ore and Joanne.”

Bruno Tonioli concluded: “Let me say this wasn’t a dance off, it was a dance treat. You both danced with such vibrancy, energy and entertainment value, it’s like splitting hairs here. We didn’t put you there, if you didn’t vote, don’t moan.

“But I have to pick one out of the two that in a way outshone everyone else, and that couple was Ore and Joanne.”

Upon discovering her fate, an emotional Laura said: “Just being here, the judges, behind the scenes. I don’t think anyone realises how much goes on here, the make-up, the costume, everything and just to be part of that for a little while is amazing.

“And if I’m going to go against anyone then, Ore, I mean… I’m OK.”

‘Strictly’ continues on Saturday (12 November), at 6.55pm on BBC One.

Seeing Danny Dyer taking his trotters for a Jack Plance is exactly what TV was made for, and whilst it might seem unlikely he'd ever sign up, don't forget he once said he'd "never" do 'EastEnders'... (credit:Matt Crossick/Matt Crossick)

Nigella loves anything decadent and extra, and with 'Strictly' being the most decadent and extra show on TV, quite why she hasn't signed up yet is a mystery to us. (credit:Lou Rocco via Getty Images)

Bosses may not be keen on casting former reality TV stars, but they should probably make an exception for 'Drag Race' alum and 'Celebrity Big Brother' winner Courtney, who would bring some drag queen glam to the often binary world of ballroom. (credit:PA Archive/PA Images)

He may be busy having a huge Hollywood career, but wouldn't it be great to see Idris back on home turf? Plus, just look at how smooth he'd look in ballroom top and tails. (credit:PA Archive/PA Images)

When it was teased one of the 2018 contestants would be revealed on 'Loose Women', many fans predicted it would be panellist Stacey Solomon getting her dancing shoes on. And as much as we're excited to see Lee, Stacey would have been a brilliant booking. (credit:Doug Peters/EMPICS Entertainment)
