Scarlett Johanssen Talks John Travolta Oscars Kiss: 'There Is Nothing Strange, Creepy Or Inappropriate About Him'

Scarlett Johansson has leapt to the defence of John Travolta, after a photo of them on the Oscars red carpet went viral.

On Sunday night, John was snapped giving Scarlett a kiss on the cheek as she posed for photographers at the Academy Awards, which it’s fair to say she didn’t exactly look thrilled about .

However, she’s now insisted that she was more than happy to be on the receiving end of a kiss from the ‘Grease’ star, telling the Associated Press: “There is nothing strange, creepy or inappropriate about John Travolta.

“The image that is circulating is an unfortunate still-frame from a live-action encounter that was very sweet and totally welcome.

"That still photo does not reflect what preceded and followed if you see the moment live.

“I haven't seen John in some years and it is always a pleasure to be greeted by him.”

Well, that clears that up. It’s a good job Scarlett decided to speak out, or we’d have been waiting a whole year for John’s statement, given his track record.

Earlier this week, he finally explained what was behind his iconic ‘Adele Dazeem’ gaffe at the Oscars a year ago, blaming Goldie Hawn for the whole debacle.

John also took part in a bizarre skit during the Oscars on Sunday night that saw him returning to the stage with ‘Adele Dazeem’ herself (or Idina Menzel, as she’s actually known), where he stroked her face on stage and joked about the incident at last year’s ceremony.
