Liam Gallagher Tears Into Noel Over Release Of New Oasis Demo, Don't Stop

Liam has branded the surprise release "a PR stunt".

Oasis fans were delighted this week, when Noel Gallagher revealed he was making a previously-unheard demo available to download for the first time.

However, it turns out one person who was less than happy with the release was his brother and former bandmate, Liam.

Noel announced on Twitter that he’d discovered an old Oasis recording “which he thought had been lost forever” in a box at his house.

“Like the rest of the world I’ve had infinite time to kill lately,” Noel explained. “So I thought I’d FINALLY look and find out what was actually on the HUNDREDS of faceless unmarked CDs I’ve got lying around in boxes at home.”

Noel continued: “As fate would have it, I have stumbled across an old demo which I thought had been lost forever.

“As far as I am aware there is only one version of this tune ‘out there’ from an Oasis soundcheck in Hong Kong about 15 years ago.”

He then revealed that the demo, Don’t Stop, would be available to download and stream from Wednesday night.

The following morning, though, Liam voiced his opinion on the track – which is credited to Oasis – and he was seemingly not impressed.

“Oi tofu boy,” he wrote, addressing his brother. “If [you’re] gonna release old demos make sure I’m singing on it and Bonehead’s playing guitar on it... if it’s not, it’s not worth a wank.”

In a subsequent tweet, he also branded the release a “PR stunt”, urging Noel to release Step Out, another Oasis demo that fans had been calling for.

“He won’t though,” Liam told one of his followers. “Coz I rip it a new arse and he’s jealous.”

However, Noel has been slightly more reluctant, and while the brothers have been exchanging harsh words in the media since Oasis’ split, things went up about 10 notches last year.

Back in July, Liam made a public apology after sending a message to Noel’s daughter, his niece, telling her: “Tell your step mam to be very careful.”

Liam has long accused Noel’s wife of delaying the Oasis reunion, previously telling NME: “He’s not allowed to, his missus won’t let him now, ’cos she’s another one.
