‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro Katya Jones has urged celebrity partner Seann Walsh to hang up his dancing shoes for good, following their elimination from the competition.

In Sunday night’s results show, Katya and Seann were sent home after winding up in the dance-off against Graeme Swann and Oti Mabuse.

In tweets posted since their exit aired, Katya has suggested that the comedian probably shouldn’t count on a career change, joking: “Please don’t keep dancing… stick to what you’re good at!”

Seann - who suffered an unfortunate fall when a dance step went wrong during rehearsals last week - then posted his own tweet commenting that he danced “like a shed in the wind”, to which Katya responded: “Bet people can’t wait for your tour, you now have soooo much material for it!”

Katya is the current ‘Strictly’ champion, having previously been partnered with Joe McFadden, who won last year’s series, as well as former Labour MP Ed Balls.

We must admit that, like Katya, we’re also pretty intrigued to see how Seann fares with his impending return to the world of comedy, having dominated the headlines for the past few weeks, since he was caught on camera kissing his dance partner during a night out.

After apologising for the incident in a public statement, Seann’s now-ex Rebecca Humphries soon shared her own post, in which she took him to task over kissing Katya, and revealed he’d branded her a “psycho” when she questioned whether anything was going on between the two of them.

Seann alluded to the controversy when the judges chose him to leave the competition, noting: “This has been without a doubt the best experience of my life, probably bar the last few weeks. But generally speaking from the beginning it really was. I can’t believe it, it’s been amazing.”

Graeme and Oti will return to the ‘Strictly’ dance floor, alongside the other remaining nine couples, for this Saturday’s live show, kicking off at 7.05pm on BBC One.
