Sharon Osbourne Accuses Simon Cowell Of Ageism As She Discusses Being Fired From X Factor

Mrs O has accused the X Factor mogul of ageism.

Sharon Osbourne has once again come out swinging against former boss Simon Cowell, accusing him of firing her because she was “too old”.

As you may recall, Sharon had been contracted for one more series of The X Factor last year, and was originally announced to be an extra fifth judge, who would offer critiques during live shows.

However, as the time came for her to rejoin the rest of the panel, it was announced that she and Simon had mutually decided she wasn’t needed, though she later claimed she’d been sacked.

Speaking on her US show The Talk on Thursday, Sharon revealed that she even turned down another TV opportunity in the States because she had been under the impression she’d be on The X Factor in the UK, only to find herself fired.

She explained: “I was signed to go to England, and then Simon Cowell changed his mind and thought I was too old. Simon goes, ‘She’s old. We need somebody young’.”

Sharon added: “If you want young, fire yourself and get rid of those man tits.”

HuffPost UK has contacted representatives both Simon Cowell and The X Factor’s representatives for comment.

Last year saw Simon joined by former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson as well as husband-and-wife duo Robbie Williams and Ayda Field, for the talent competition’s 15th series.

It’s been reported that he’s planning something different for 2019, consisting of a celebrity version of the show, and an All Stars special that will see contestants from past series battling it out once again.
