Michael Keaton Stuffs His Oscars Acceptance Speech Back Into His Pocket After Eddie Redmayne Beats Him To Best Lead Actor Gong (VIDEO)

And The Award For Saddest Oscars Moment Goes To...

Michael Keaton might not have won the Oscar for Best Lead Actor for his role in ‘Birdman’, but he does win the award for Saddest Oscars Moment.

A Vine of the actor stuffing his acceptance speech back into his pocket after he realises he has lost out to Eddie Redmayne at Sunday night’s Academy Awards has surfaced and, well, it’s all a bit heartbreaking.

Michael was one of the favourites to bag himself the Best Actor gong after he triumphed at the Golden Globes, but Brit star Eddie ended up taking home the Oscar for his portrayal of Professor Stephen Hawking in ‘The Theory Of Everything’.

‘Birdman’ did, however, win the Oscar for ‘Best Picture’, so Michael still had the chance to say a few words on stage.

"This has been a tremendous experience," he said.

"These guys are as bold as bold could be, it was just a tremendous honour for me – look, it's great to be here who am I kidding, this is just great fun, thank you very much."

Eddie, on the other hand, told ITV's ‘Good Morning Britain’ that he couldn’t even remember his acceptance speech.

"I can't remember it at all,” he admitted. “I just remember it being a sort of frenzied blur.

“It's this extraordinary thing where you're lucky enough to tell a story like this, the amount of people involved that help make you be able to tell that story, there are always more people you need to thank."
